My dear friend Dr. Liz Hale is a psychologist in Salt Lake City. Among the many wonderful things she participates in; she does a segment on KSL TV in Salt Lake about common human experiences. I found an article on her website about self-sabotage http://http//www.drlizhale.com/?p=95#more-95 that I loved. Please follow the link to read the full article but I have attached an excerpt as a teaser:
"A warning about counting your flaws: Thinking that we have flaws buys us into the idea of deep unworthiness because a flaw is intrinsic, thus leaving us with the beliefs that we can’t change. Believing we are flawed perpetuates the whole self-sabotage belief pattern. Do we have weaknesses? Yes! Just enough to keep us humble and working in the right direction. Let’s just have fun with words - trust the research that shows they’re powerful and change flaws to “Growth opportunities.”
I thought this article was a great inspiration for how to start this year in a positive way, transitioning from victim and blame and why? to acceptance, empowerment and HOW! How can I become whatever it is I am meant to become?
